[UPDATE] Yesterday, news broke that the Survivor 2299 website is a hoax. A new Fallout game could be in the works. Bethesday however, is not nearing an announcement about it anytime soon. It appears the people behind the website have outed themselves (several days before their countdown meter reaches zero) with the update.
The following is the original story.
[ORIGINAL STORY]
Fallout 3 is one of my favorite video games of all time. I spent a lot (*cough* 200 hours *cough*) of time playing every square inch of that game. When New Vegas was released I was super excited, but ultimately didn’t find it as enthralling as 3. No matter. I could wait for Fallout 4. It was just around the corner right?
WRONG. Waiting for Fallout 4 has been on the hardest part of my life behind finding a career, a long distance relationship, and curing AIDS. Now a glimmer of hope is shining through as some new details have emerged about the possible reveal of a new Fallout.
***Does this have something to do with LOST?***
Survivor 2299
A teaser website has been found that shows little to no information (be sure to turn on your volume for the only hint given). If you’re not familiar with morse code go here to read the translation. The code refers to an unmarked quest in Fallout 3 about the Oscar Zulu radio station (I don’t remember this, time to go replay).
And… well, that’s it. There is a countdown that ends on December 11th but nothing definitive about the game. Including the idea that the game even exists. December 7th is the VGX award show on Spike TV so perhaps an announcement will be revealed with a longer trailer of (I’m hyperventilating guys) gameplay footage shown on the 11th.
All speculation of course but I enjoy exciting myself. Bethesda trademarked Fallout 4 last week so it would seem the news I’ve been waiting for is finally coming in a few weeks.
***Shut Up, MOM***
Of course now knowing information is coming, makes the waiting that much harder.
Between this and the news Telltale is making a Game of Thrones video game… it’s a good day to be a gamer.
