The Assassin’s Creed movie has been shrouded in mystery. Fans have learned of Michael Fassbender as the lead and that the movie will not follow any of the games, but not much else. Not anymore:
Today a picture of Michael Fassbender posing as Callum Lynch, the main character for the movie, was released during a Yahoo exclusive.
Callum Lynch does not fit into the rest of the Assassin’s Creed universe; he was created specifically for the movie, but Fassbender looks like he’ll make a great Assassin anyways: two hidden blades and a perfectly shrouded figure. Frankly, he looks good in robes.
Lynch discovers his ancestry through the same technology Desmond Miles does and decides to fight the Templars in real life as well. He lives through the memories of his ancestor Aguilar in 15th Century Spain.
Other set cast members includes Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed. The filming starts on Monday in Malta, London, and Spain.
The movie is set to release December 21, 2016.
