After being made available for Android and iOS in 2011, the game has continued its commanding reign over the internet gaming community by releasing the title to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 a year later.

Minecraft is no stranger to the digital realm, receiving 6 awards and selling over 49 million copies across all available platforms.

Majong will continue with Minecraft‘s marvellous success in August by launching Xbox One, Playstation 3, and Playstation Vita version of the game.

Minecraft will be available for $20 for players that do not own any previous versions of the game, and $5 for those who already own it on Xbox 360 or PS3.

The Vita-edition will be available for free to users who own the title on the PS3, making this rendition a “Cross-Buy” title.

Compatibility and Feature Changes

Majong has stated that Minecraft: Xbox One and PS4 editions will be flaunting bigger worlds than its predecessors, and will allow current users to import all saved game data from Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, respectively. On the other hand, save files from the Xbox One and PS4 will not be backwards compatible.

All PS3 DLC will be compatible with the Vita version of the game, while some skins and textures will not be available on the PS4 or Xbox One due to licensing deals.

According to Majong, the $5 upgrade will available for up to a year after the August launch.
