October is almost here (or already here depending on where you are in the space-time continuum), and that means it’s time for a new round of PS Plus games. The October PS Plus games are the horror adventure Vampyr and vengeance-fueled Need for Speed Payback.

They’ll be available starting October 6 and available until November 2. Vampyr and Need for Speed Payback come on the heels of September’s free games, Street Fighter 5 and PUBG, which are up for download until October 5.

Need for Speed Payback

Need for Speed: Payback revolved around the gritty criminal underworld of Fortune Valley and the big city of Silver Rock. The player is out for vengeance against The House, a gang controlling Fortune Valley’s entertainment districts and the government itself.

Gameplay is split between three mission types: races, risky jobs, and off-road competitions. At its core, though, Payback is pure Need for Speed: go as fast as you can, and don’t get caught.

Vampyr

In Vampyr, players take control of Dr. Jonathan Reid and figure out ways to help flu victims in 19th century London. The twist is that Reid’s a vampire and must turn his patients into his own victims while avoiding vampire hunters and other denizens of the night.

It’s a choice-driven adventure where decisions made could mean London’s salvation or Reid’s transformation into a monster void of all humanity. We called it an intoxicating” RPG adventure and one that still holds up on Nintendo Switch for those who prefer the portable life.
